Line B is the successor of the narrow gauge railway to Póvoa de Varzim. In Porto it uses the joint route. Counted from Senhora da Hora the length is about 24 km and there are 22 stops. The narrow gauge railway had nine stations on this part. The first part after Senhora da Hora is shared with line E.
Two more stops of line B are in the municipality of Maia. The remaining part is located in the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim. This part counts 15 stops/stations: Vilar do Pinheiro – Modivas Sul – Modivas Centro (Vila Chã) – VC Fashion Outlet / Modivas Norte – Mindelo – Espaço Natureza – Varziela – Árvore – Azurara – Santa Clara – Vila do Conde – Alto de Pega – Portas Fronhas – São Bras – Póvoa de Varzim. In Póvoa de Varzim the line terminates on the site of the former narrow gauge railway station. The line has an interurban character. It is the only line with express services calling only at the more important stops.

July 2017 New stop VC Fashion Outlet / Modivas Norte opened between Modivas Centro and Mindelo.
Travel time from Senhora da Hora to Póvoa de Varzim is 39′, with the Express service 31′. From Trindade to Póvoa de Varzim is 55′, with the Express service 46′. From Estádio do Dragão to Póvoa de Varzim is 63′, with the Express service 54′.
Travel times might not look to have improved compared to the narrow gauge DMU period, but the number of intermediate stops significant increased:
Narrow gauge DMU 2000 time-table – Trindade to Póvoa de Varzim 55′ with 14 intermediate stops and 50′ with 10 intermediate stops. Metro do Porto line B 55′ with 29 intermediate stops and 46′ with 14 intermediate stops.

Evenings and weekends no express service.
