Lines B (Maia part) & E of the Metro do Porto

The lines B and E of the Metro do Porto share their route not only on the joint route, but also beyond Senhora da Hora until Verdes. On this section are from Senhora da Hora 5 stops until Verdes: Fonte do Cuco (also shared with line C) – Custóias – Esposade – Crestins – Verdes.

Line B continues from Verdes to Póvoa de Varzim. Within the municipality of Maia line B has two more stops: Pedras Rubras and Lidador. Beyond Lidador line B is within the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim. From Verdes line E follows a 1.5 km long branch to the airport (Aeroporto) with only one intermediate stop: Bótica.

Opening dates:
12 March 2005 Line B Estádio do Dragão – Trindade – Senhora da Hora – Fonte do Cuco – Pedras Rubras (6.7 km from Senhora da Hora to Pedras Rubras)
27 May 2006 Line E Trindade – Senhora da Hora – Fonte do Cuco – Verdes – Aeroporto (1.5 km from Verdes to Aeroporto) with opening of the station Verdes on line B (Red) between Crestins and Pedras Rubras. Later line E was extended via the joint route to Estádio do Dragão, but in 2020 again cut back to Trindade.
Travel time to Aeroporto from Senhora da Hora is 14′, from Trindade 27′.

Pedras Rubras was one of the most important intermediate stations of the narrow gauge railway. The old goods shed and station building still exist. The actual stop of line B is beyond the station building in the background and also one of the stops where also the express services call. 8 June 2012.
